If your family has a uniform, photograph, letter, document, medal, tool, piece of equipment or other military-related material, we are interested in the story that comes with it.
An object without its history can become anonymous. A name, a photograph, a unit, a date, a letter or a family memory can transform that same object into a person's story.
What to tell us
- Who did the item belong to?
- What branch, unit, ship, station or organization were they connected with?
- When and where did they serve?
- What does your family know about the item?
- Are photographs, letters, documents or oral histories connected to it?
- Would you like to discuss donation, loan, copying/scanning, or simply sharing the story?
Acceptance into the collection depends on mission fit, condition, provenance, storage, legal ownership and collection needs — but every story is worth telling us about, even if the item stays with your family.
