Collection & Equipment
Our collection includes military vehicles, vessels, artifacts, uniforms,
photographs, documents, displays and working educational equipment — and it
keeps growing as restoration projects and Station Liberty develop. Every
piece here matters because of the people connected to it: the crews, the
mechanics, the medics, the families.
Under restoration USCG 44' Motor Lifeboat 44334
Built in 1965 at Curtis Bay, 44334 served the United States Coast
Guard on the Great Lakes, including assignments in Michigan City,
Lorain and the Marblehead/Port Clinton area. The vessel later served
with the Ohio Naval Militia before coming to The Last Patrol.
Restoration is underway to preserve the boat and its history for
future education and public interpretation.
On August 22, 2026 she left the marina on a custom-built transport
trailer and made the trip to her new home, where work on the
pilothouse has already begun.

Educational display USCG 26' Motor Surf Boat
A former Coast Guard motor surf boat associated with USCGC Resolute,
now part of The Last Patrol's educational and display collection. She
travels with us to community events, where visitors can get close
enough to ask how a small boat crew worked.

Future training platform 39' High-Speed Boat
A former U.S. Navy high-speed craft planned as an operational training
and educational platform — bringing modern maritime design, teamwork,
vessel operations and engineering into the Station Liberty experience.
Community outreach Lil Abe
Lil Abe is The Last Patrol's half-scale Abrams tank replica and one of
our most recognizable outreach pieces. It travels to community events
and gives families and young people an immediate reason to stop, look,
ask questions and begin learning.

Community outreach The Mobile Museum
When the public cannot come to the museum, the museum goes to the
public. The Mobile Museum is an enclosed exhibit trailer fitted out
with uniforms, photographs, display panels and artifacts from the
collection. It sets up at parades, memorial events, car shows and
community days across Northwest Ohio, usually alongside Lil Abe or
one of the boats.

Educational display Historic Military Ambulances
The collection includes historic military ambulances representing
different eras, including a World War II Dodge WC54 and a Vietnam-era
Kaiser Jeep M725. These vehicles provide a doorway into the history of
battlefield medicine, evacuation, military transportation — and the
people who cared for the wounded.
Growing collection Artifacts, Uniforms & Documents
Uniforms, photographs, letters, medals, tools and equipment — each one
preserved with the story attached to it whenever possible. If your
family has an item with a story, we would like to hear it.
